Open Stage: 80s Night Fever @ Mudam

A participatory event that brings together the elements developed throughout Mudam’s Summer Project. Conceived as an active stage, it brings sound, movement, image and discourse into play all at once. Rather than a fixed performance, it operates as an open environment in which visitors can move between roles: observer, participant, performer. The night unfolds through a series of ‘stages’: an 80s-focused clothes swap, three DJ sets, a live hair and styling stand, a cassette recording station and an accessories drop-in. Dance activations may extend the movement-based work, while the collective graffiti (created during the workshop) functions as a visual backdrop. Together, these elements form a space where style, gesture, and atmosphere are continuously produced and reworked.

Literary baddies book club – East of Eden @ Rotondes

To wrap up our summer, Literary Baddies are turning to the ultimate exploration of good and evil – East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
East of Eden acts as a modern retelling of Cain and Abel, exploring sibling rivalries, the nature of morality, and the power of human choice. Set in California’s Salina Valley, the story follows the intertwined lives of the Trask and Hamilton families across multiple generations.
We will be examining the book through the lens of good and evil, as Steinbeck treats morality and villainy as a matter of personal agency. Touching on themes of family rejection, the power of will, and the innateness of human nature, we will discuss whether any of it is actually fixed, or whether we are, as Steinbeck believed, always choosing.
Later in autumn, we will tune in to the new Netflix TV adaptation. Anyone is welcome regardless of finishing the book but beware of spoilers !

In wet dreams, four performers dive into the murky streams of being together - as leaky and entangled bodies of water, living on an aqueous planet. Drawing on hydro-feminism (Astreida Neimanis) and pleasure activism (adrienne maree brown), they explore the liminal spaces between fluidity and friction, care and control, rethinking embodiment and interdependence. How can we (re)connect to our bodies and each other within systems that are built to divide? What if pleasure and joy are necessary for change? In a dystopian world shaped by racial capitalism, wet dreams offers a space to embrace our deep longings - to grieve, to laugh, to love and to imagine otherwise.

Kaihō. Japanese Women Artists after 1945

This exhibition will be the first European survey examining the essential role of women artists from Japan in the global postwar era and the transformative decades that followed. Focusing on a period of significant social change, this comprehensive overview will offer an opportunity to encounter radical modes of artistic expression that emerged in Japan and its transnational community across Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America.
Organised into thematic sections, Japanese Women Artists after 1945 will provide an insight into dynamic cultural exchanges and the forgotten margins of modernism. Drawing from the artists’ personal lives, creative resilience and transnational activism, the exhibition will bring together works by Atsuko Tanaka, Yayoi Kusama, Yoko Ono, Fujiko Nakaya, Tomie Ohtake, Taeko Tomiyama and Yoshiko Shimada, among many others – some of which have rarely, if ever, been shown outside of Japan. From Gutai to experiments in video art, the exhibition will explore the radical yet often overlooked contributions of Japanese women artists to global postwar art movements. Organised by Mudam in collaboration with Lenbachhaus Munich and Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, this presentation will reimagine the development of various transnational art histories from the 1950s to the 1990s through a contemporary lens.

Welcome to Poesie Plus Festival at Kulturfabrik. A poetry festival - but not only. Over three days, 40+ artists from literature and beyond take the stage, bringing the spoken and written word into dialogue with music, performance and visual art.
A literature festival with a twist. Poesie Plus is a space for experimentation, participation and encounters. A place to discover literature differently and experience what happens when words meet other forms.
Sometimes intimate, sometimes exuberant - a pluridisciplinary and multilingual program between Schubert and shredding, rave and rêverie. A festival that brings literature closer to people, and people closer to literature.
Poésie Plus is a three-day literature and performance festival exploring the intersections between literature, music, movement arts and visual arts. Conceived as a space for experimentation and participation, the festival invites artists and audiences to discover new ways of experiencing literature. Its multidisciplinary programme encourages the exploration of new literary and performative practices.

Consent in motion Workshop @ CNA Dudelange
Are you 18 to 25 years old and interested in taking part in a creative workshop exploring consent and inclusion in nightlife through movement and filmmaking?
Over the course of two days, you’ll explore the topic of consent through film, movement, and creative video-making. Together, you’ll write, film, and produce a short film, guided by Luxembourgish filmmaker Tessy Troes. The workshop will take place over two Saturdays at the CNA: Saturday, 26 September and Saturday, 3 October.
No previous experience in filmmaking or dance is required. Places are limited. Once you’ve registered, 4motion will get in touch with you to confirm your participation.

Streetfest & Party @ Esch-sur-Alzette
On September 26, Luxembourg Pride, in cooperation with the City of Esch-sur-Alzette, is organizing the "Esch in Colours" day. On this occasion, Rue de l'Alzette is decked out in rainbow colors – a visible sign of acceptance and protection for queer people – while the entire city comes alive to the rhythm of a celebration of diversity.
Streetfest: The afternoon kicks off with the Streetfest at Place de la Résistance, which fills the streets with life, color, and good spirits from 16h00 to 21h00. The highlight of the event: a fashion show by Nadine Robert, followed by the official opening of the Rainbow Passage a new symbol of visibility and solidarity in the heart of Esch. Musical entertainment will be provided by a live performance from OKE.

Party: To mark the fact that Rue de l’Alzette is adorned in rainbow colors as a visible sign of acceptance and protection for queer people, an evening filled with high-energy beats and plenty of extravagance will take place on September 26. A running/walking event that engages audiences with biodiversity in a forested area. Join us for an afternoon of Roots & Routes. EU Climate Pact Ambassadors invite you to discover the biodiversity of our forests through expert workshops and games, linked to citizen science and climate action.
As part of the activity, you are invited to walk or run the 10 km or 5 km circuit and discover your local biodiversity while getting fit. Once you have completed the circuit, meet with botanical, water and nature guides to learn about the forest and how to protect it. Enjoy a sustainable snack and networking with like-minded climate and fitness enthusiasts.

Les optimistes. queer loox screening @ Rotondes

“Les Optimistes” is the name of an extraordinary Norwegian volleyball team: the players are between 66 and 98 years old! Although these athletic grandmothers haven’t played a single real game in 30 years of training, they decide to take on a major challenge: traveling to Sweden to face their male counterparts.
But first, they have to embroider their tracksuits, find a sponsor, convince the national coach to train them, memorize the rules they’ve forgotten, and get up early in the morning to go for a run… Take it from them: being a senior is a blessing, and these Optimists are seizing it with both hands!
