Casino_Video_Club: Dzhovani Gospodinov Screening & Talk @ Casino Display

Building on the format of the CasinoBookClub, which has been running successfully for the past two years, we are excited to introduce the Casino____Club. In this new series of artist talks, artists will present some of their key influences through various forms such as music and/or video—not limited to books alone.
At the heart of this concept is the idea that artists come to share their creative work while also exploring different influences that have inspired or shaped their artistic journey.
In his latest film Meadows Wait, Mist Diffuses (2024), filmmaker and video artist Dzhovani Gospodinov captures the enigmatic energies of Hosbësch, a forest in Luxembourg that has shaped his personal connection to the natural world.
Exploring the ways in which humans disrupt and alter the intimacies between animals, the film queries the ethics of our intrusion into fragile ecosystems. Through a multi-year, minimally interventionist filming process, Dzhovani Gospodinov drifts along the boundaries of documentary and experimental storytelling. Moving between the visual and affective modalities of the voyeuristic and introspective, the film is at once a portrait of — and elegy to—Hosbësch.

An invitation to immerse yourself in the world of modern and contemporary creation.
The Mudam Akademie offers an introduction to modern and contemporary art, showing how artists of the past and the present act as inventors of aesthetic universes, as well as catalysts and interpreters of major societal events.
In direct dialogue with Mudam’s wide-ranging exhibition programme, this lecture series demonstrates that the museum seeks to be an open space that remains attentive to the world’s transformations. Accessible to both, newcomers and more experienced audiences, the Mudam Akademie aims to make art history approachable for everyone.
Session 4 – 14.01.2026
Bodies in action: feminist art, gender and identity politics
In dialogue with Eleanor Antin – A Retrospective
This session traces the history of feminist and queer artistic practices, emphasising the performativity of the body, critique of representation norms and self-staging as a political tool. It also examines how these critical gestures are passed on to contemporary generations.

For the Luxembourg poetry slam championship, talented, daring writers with a way with words present their own texts to a discerning and demanding jury... the audience. All languages are allowed, as long as the flow is there. The right word at the right time is THE ticket for candidates (who are nationals or residents of the country) to the European championship in Austria and – who knows? – to the world championship.
Sara Andjelkovic, Franziska Peschel, Laureena Maurini, Dany Coimbra... Les Rotondes and the Kulturhaus Niederanven have been hosting the cream of the slam crop since 2021. Who will take over after these talented individuals and represent Luxembourg on the international stage? It's going to be a close contest!

Each visit becomes an explorative encounter that reimagines art through unexpected words and diverse perspectives.
Through MM Consulting, Magali Medinger collaborates with public and private actors (NGOs, schools, organisations, companies), as well as diverse audiences (citizens, entrepreneurs, students). ‘How can one explore different facets of their identity through art?
How can you, like Eleanor Antin, create an alter ego that draws inspiration from you, but distorts reality to portray a fictional yet autobiographical character?’
The workshop will explore the use of mosaic techniques as a form of intuitive, sensory and symbolic expression. Using simple shapes, colours and fragments of materials, you will be invited to create a work that reflects an aspect of yourself, whether real, imaginary or hidden.
Biography:
Lisa Junius is an interdisciplinary visual artist and ceramicist born in Luxembourg. Her work explores tranquil inner worlds inhabited by female figures, cosmic elements and mental landscapes. Using painting, ceramics, illustration and design, she creates a meditative and sensory visual language. Her practice is a realm of re-enchantment and gentle resistance, where manual gestures and organic shapes serve as instruments for refocusing, healing and connection. Drawing inspiration from nature, lunar cycles and an intuitive aesthetic, she questions notions of femininity, everyday magic, autonomy and healing.
